Coast named as Sponsors of the 2020 Screenwave International Film Festival (SWIFF)

less than two minutes.

Screenwave International Film Festival (SWIFF) brings audiences a culturally diverse and inclusive program of over 70 world-class films, from Australia and abroad, with many guest filmmakers, events and galas. The festival is a celebration of film and screen culture – more than just watching movies.

Running from 9-24 January, the Coffs Coast will receive dozens of filmmakers and festival guests – actors, directors, producers, and writers.

SWIFF also has a strong reputation as the largest arts and culture festival on the Mid North Coast, enjoying a lot of goodwill from both industry and community.

As a key sponsor of the festival, Coast was invited to celebrate the launch of the 2020 program, attending the Preview Gala Event to see the Premiere screening of the heart-warming SXSW Audience Award Winner, The Peanut Butter Falcon.

In what was truly a magical evening, our team frocked up to walk the red carpet and enjoyed mingling and rubbing shoulders with the creative industry and local businesses alike, as we learned all about the highlights of 2020 SWIFF.

Key film highlights also include award magnet French character drama Portrait of a Lady on Fire, stirring Balkan sustainability documentary Honeyland, Palme d’Or-nominated Ken Loach film Sorry We Missed You, Palme d’Or winning alumni Hirokazu Kore-eda’s star-studded French language debut The Truth, along with one of the first screenings in Australia of master filmmaker Terrence Mallick’s new German film A Hidden Life.

As sponsors of SWIFF, Coast will not only give back to our community by way of monetary support but also donate our agency’s time to help strategise and create video and social media content designed to promote the event and capture the festival vibe. Some brand and marketing support has also been offered for which we are more than proud to donate our time towards as sponsors of this exciting festival for the arts. Coast’s promotional film will also be proudly shown before each feature film as we believe that behind every great film is an even greater story, and storytelling is what we do best.
