Maggie’s Pet Co. is the parent company of the award-winning Maggie’s Dog café, Australia’s only indoor dog café and Maggie’s Pet Co, a pet wellness and nutrition brand, helping your pets live a healthier and more stylish life.

Maggie’s Pet Co. is named after owners Lisa and Stephen’s, eldest brindle French bulldog ‘Maggie’, originally starting out as Maggie’s Dog Café which launched in 2017. Voted as Australia’s No: 1 Dog-Friendly Café 2020, they have also been featured on Qantas Tourism, Better Homes and Gardens, with Dr. Harry and Channel 7’s Pooch Perfect.

Brand Direction + Identity Strategy

Having originally launched the business as Maggie’s Dog Café 4 years ago, Lisa and Stephen have rapidly grown the business by setting up and acquiring complementary pet wellness and nutrition brands, creating an online offering and loyal brand following across Australia. Coast has been engaged to rebrand Maggie’s, from initial brand strategy and positioning to the creation of a new brand identity and refreshed brand design including the delivery of new product packaging and a new streamlined digital experience through a seamless eCommerce website.

To begin Coast Creative Director Shane O’Brien hosted a series of brand identity strategy sessions to establish their brand architecture, brand positioning, hierarchy, brand essence, and tone of voice.

Once completed Coast Lead Designer & Brand Specialist, Jena Hackett was ready to get creative and develop the brand identity workshop that would inform the refreshed branding design. For Maggie’s, this brand execution included both graphic and digital elements from packaging and point of sale through to the website and social channels.

Packaging Design

Once we had established the new brand suite, Coast worked with Lisa + Stephen to craft the new-look product packaging!

To bring the Maggie’s Pet Co. brand to life and take their packaging to the next level we helped create their new eco-friendly REDcycle-able treat bags and a new range of pet cosmetics, complete with a beautiful silver foil finish!

Custom Website Design + Development

The next step was to bring the brand to life through an engaging, personalised, and seamless digital experience. This new site replaces 3 separate website experiences creating a holistic Maggie’s Pet Co. online experience, simplifying customer journeys, and enabling greater conversion opportunities.

They then built the website from the ground up on Coast’s custom, responsive Shopify framework, utilising Shopify’s recently launched Online Store 2.0 functionality! Some exciting design features include;

• Set up of Content Management System (CMS), so Maggie’s Pet Co. can easily update content.
• Creation of blog with searchable categories.
• Email marketing integration
• Integration of client subscribed booking system

Content Creation

To develop website content, Coast’s in-house content creation team assisted the client in crafting the copy for the new website, incorporating SEO to provide a website that not only talks to the target audience but one that is ranked highly in Google for keywords and phrases.

Holistic Digital Marketing Strategy

Next, we took a holistic view to marketing activities for the business, primarily focussing on owned, earned and paid digital assets. Again, a workshop was held with the client before the holistic digital marketing strategy was developed.
